Happy Thursday, Rotarians.

Need to Know:

  1. Tomorrow (July 17th) we are working the kitchen at the Webster County Fair. We have plenty of volunteers for the first shift, but could use more help on the second shift from 7:30 – 11:00 PM. If you can help, you can sign up online at www.marshfieldrotary.com.
  2. Our club will be conducting a visioning project for the club on Monday, August 3rd from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. If you are interested in being part of this project, please sign up on our website. Food will be provided. Location TBD. For more info, contact Scott Jones.
  3. Our next board meeting will be at noon on Wednesday, August 19th at DD Hamilton.
  4. Go ahead and put this on your calendar now: our 3rd Annual Romance Raffle will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016.

Meeting Recap

Our crowd was light on Tuesday, in part due to the big storm that passed through Marshfield around lunchtime. I hope none of you sustained any property damage from the event. Big kudos to the 12 die-hards who made it to lunch despite the torrential rain.

We mostly had a social lunch. Scott lit the bat-signal for more volunteers for 2nd shift at the fair on Friday. He also sent around a sign-up sheet for the visioning project on August 3rd. The visioning project will be an opportunity for members to express ideas on how we can strengthen and grow the club, what sort of projects we would like to focus on, etc. You can sign up for both activities on our club website.

Leslie Thomas is working on finding a new faculty sponsor for our Marshfield Interact Club for the upcoming school year. We need other members to step up and help with our two Interact clubs for the next year. Leslie did an amazing job getting both clubs off the ground last year, but this can’t be a one or two person project. We need the whole club to get involved in keeping our two Interact clubs going. Throughout the year, we will be looking for members to step up and help with Interact meetings and service projects.

Final Thoughts

“There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm.”

Willa Cather (1873-1947)

FYI: There will be no newsletter next week.
